7 steps to the great mobile app design
Pay attention to the following aspects, which are very important not only in app design but also in design in general.
- Always design with an understanding of the environment.
- Use what is best for a given project.
- Take care of transparency on every platform.
- Stick to specific rules for a given environment.
- Don’t try to copy, always analyze and design.
- Change flow and means of expression.
However, what to pay particular attention to during app design.
First
GUI, or Graphical User Interface, which we understand as a graphical environment or graphical user interface. When designing an app, we should stick to GUI, or libraries characteristic of a given operating system, and default static and animated visual solutions. This way, designing is faster because specific requirements set at the beginning allow to creation of certain elements that are repetitive and usable on subsequent views. From the user’s perspective, such native GUI elements are consistent with the entire system.
Second
The Animations. Currently, it is difficult to find a digital product that does not have any animations, and we can confidently say that it is already a technical requirement. Attractive and polished animations can attract users’ attention, improve their experience and reduce cognitive load.
Third
Engaging translates to capturing or holding the user’s attention or interest or maintaining interaction. This is very important and possible through special techniques, and in fact, the entire product must be engaging.
Fourth
Task focus refers to focusing on the task, or goal. When designing, we create an application that is responsible for achieving successive goals and steps. However, it should be remembered that sometimes, when trying to solve too many problems with an application, the purpose of using it becomes unclear. As a result, users are confused, they don’t know where to start, what to do, and how to perform their tasks. That’s why it is so important during app design not to add an unlimited number of features, as this can cause frustration for users and the app will lose its value. It’s about making sure that the user, who is in a given flow and has a specific goal to accomplish, is not bombarded with additional tasks.
Fifth
Content focus is about appropriately presenting the content, and pacing it. When creating an application from which the user extracts new content, it is not necessary to add distractions that lose his attention.
Sixth
Specific flow, which is the basic outline of the user’s journey through the app, is the key to any successful product. With a specific flow, the journey through the app will be easy and seamless, and the user will be more likely to return to it.
Seventh
The specific design is a characteristic and visually pleasing design that certainly catches the attention. Although the word “pretty” is very subjective, testing and research of the target group allow you to choose the right one for a given project.
Technology is constantly evolving, so searching for trends and innovations is essential in a designer’s work. Thanks to modern technologies, your project will be even more user-friendly and its use will be even more pleasant. Don’t be afraid to use these possibilities.
